Relocation Counseling
& Consulting, a company Lynn developed from cultural
training certification, personal experiences of living abroad and cultural
challenges from her clients in private practice.
Beginning in 1983,
Lynn lived in Brazil, where she taught English. She quickly learned the
language (Portuguese) and culture of Brazil while serving as the President of
the Brazilian Newcomers Club. Following her two-year residence there, Lynn
moved to London for six months, then finally settled in Miami, where she spent
seven years working in Human Resources at the World
Headquarters of Burger
King Corporation
She
also pursued a Masters degree from Florida
International University in family counseling and became a licensed
family Psychotherapist after relocating to Puerto Rico
in 1998.
During this time she became a certified cross cultural trainer providing cultural training
programs & mental
health counseling to corporate families and individuals relocating to Puerto
Rico.
Lynn
has been a guest speaker at schools, seminars, and other functions
throughout Puerto Rico and has appeared as well on radio and television.
The topics of her presentations include cultural awareness, culture shock
and cultural adjustment, domestic violence,
depression and relationship/marital communication
challenges.
Lynn is an
active member of the Newcomers Club of Puerto Rico as well as the Small
Business Association there. She enjoys sports, jogging, spinning,
biking and weight training.
She is proud to say that she is now a fluent speaker of Spanish.
